Bodytalk
Body language is an important part of human communication. With your body you can show who you are, or who you could or would like to be. You can modify, change, dress or paint your body, but you can also give it expression through facial expressions, posture, gesture and appearance. The body speaks.
The body, in all its manifestations is the subject of BODYTALK. The Salon has invited artists to visualize the role and meaning of the human body in the present time. BODYTALK is an invitation to reacquaint oneself with the zeitgeist that shows old and new values side by side.
The search for identity is obviously part of this. The selection and design of the exhibition was commissioned by De Salon Sittard-Geleen and carried out by two curators Marjo Boesten and Arjen van Prooijen. Of 45 artists exhibiting their works, the majority have a connection to the South Limburg region.
In addition to the exhibition, The Salon is organizing an extensive educational and cultural fringe program.
The exhibition is on view from Sept. 16, 2023 to Jan. 14, 2024
