About BK Information

Forty years ago, BK-informatie was founded on the initiative of the Government Buildings Agency and the major cities in response to the need for its own professional magazine for artists. Over the years, we have placed more than 1600 advertisements for art commissions in the public space - many readers have contributed to the creation of this globally unique art history.

Over the years we have placed over 1600 advertisements for art commissions in the public space

So our origins lie in art in the public space. That is still our focus, although we inform our readers about much more than that. It is not for nothing that our motto is "Anyone who wants to know what is going on in the visual arts should read the BK-information magazine".
We inform visual artists and people working in the visual arts with targeted and objective information which visual artists can use to their advantage. BK-informatie brings together supply and demand for professional artists. The approximately 7,000 subscribers and 10,000 readers - 85% visual artists including many young artists - underline this. The magazine is not subsidized and is affordable for everyone.

BK-informatie appears eight times a year and is published by the BK-informatie foundation. It is a professional journal for visual artists which mainly contains information about the professional practice of professional artists.

In addition to reporting on the visual arts policy of the national government, provinces and municipalities, and institutions and organizations, BK-informatie contains advertisements for commissions and acquisitions, calls for Artist-in-Residence programs, announcements of international competitions, prizes, grants and opportunities to participate in projects and events.

Each issue contains photos of a current topic.
