Proud

With this eighth issue, we conclude yet another year of BK information. It is with pride and great pleasure that we look back on the past year and confidently look forward to the year ahead. A year in which our second BK lecture is on the agenda. On February 12, during Art Rotterdam and delivered by ruangrupa, curator of Sonsbeek 2016. Afterwards you can visit Art Rotterdam and in the evening there will be a special opening at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

We are very proud that ruangrupa will be hosting the lecture on February 12, so as far as we are concerned, the new BK year is off to a good start. We are equally proud that during the 37 years of our existence we have always stayed with the original core of BK information: simple, non-opinionated and intended for visual artists to benefit from. And we continue to do so. We have no profit motive: we want to offer BK-informatie at the lowest possible price and occasionally organize something extra for our subscribers. Thanks to these subscribers and our advertisers, we are still able to offer BK-informatie at the lowest possible price and we do not need to raise the subscription price this year.

Unfortunately we cannot offer the BK lecture for free this time. However, we have managed to keep the costs as low as possible, so that you will still have the opportunity to enjoy the lecture and the additional program and we can welcome you again at Art Rotterdam.

In addition to creating BK-informatie and organizing the BK lecture, we are increasingly active in the digital world: we have our website, and we use Twitter and Facebook, where we post information between the publication of the magazines and where anyone who follows us there can engage with us. We see our social media as a platform for our subscribers, a place where you can except information, post information, or ask questions of us or the readers of BKinformation.

As I said, we close the year with due pride and we look forward to the future in which we will continue to inform you with commitment and great pleasure about an aspect of life that is important to us, the creators of the magazine, and to you as a reader: visual art and the possibility of continuing to make it in freedom and with conviction. We hope that the information you receive through us is helpful in this regard.

We wish you a great 2016!
