Roadmap art in public space

In early January, the Cultural Heritage Agency (OCW) published the Roadmap for art in public spaces - a guide to management and conservation.

It provides practical information for the management and conservation of art in public spaces and addresses problem situations where owners,
managers and other parties involved may have to deal with. Topics include maintenance, documentation, valuation, risk management, damage and restoration.

Roadmap for art in public spaces - a guide to management and conservation

A survey of large and small municipalities, three case studies (in collaboration with managers and restorers) and a number of interviews and discussions with interested parties form the basis for this step-by-step plan.

The main target group for the publication are the owners and managers of art in public spaces, so that they can make responsible decisions about the management, conservation or special situations, such as the relocation or disposal of a work of art.

The step-by-step plan serves as an aid in this process. It consists of a flow chart that clarifies various aspects and processes of management and conservation and a step-by-step plan.
