Crisis

We live in difficult and troubled times. When this BK information goes to the printer, we can only guess what the world will look like by the time it arrives on your doorstep. Developments and news follow each other in rapid succession and keeping up with them sometimes makes one feel gloomy.

For many visual artists, concerns about their own existence are added to this. How does the art sector develop? What are the possibilities if the corona crisis makes way for an economic crisis? How does my professional practice develop? How will I survive the coming months and beyond? The sector is once again being hit hard and the benefits of most measures - however important they may be - are not yet reaching many visual artists.

What are the possibilities if the corona crisis soon gives way to an economic crisis?

Fortunately, visual artists and other creators are not sitting still. In the past few weeks, many initiatives have emerged in response to the corona crisis. Artists and initiatives show their work online and reflect on the future after the crisis.

In this BK Information We have tried to collect online art and initiatives. Occasionally we have stepped outside the field of visual arts, because we think it's nice to have a wide range of possibilities and to be able to make a choice at home from the still accessible supply of art and culture. Even if only to counterbalance the daily stream of reports about the crisis. We have included exhibitions that open after June 1. And most of the residencies we mention start late in the year or only next year. We sincerely hope that by then we will be living in a different world than today.

In this BK Information we have tried to collect art and initiatives online.

Here you will find an overview of the measures and opportunities taken in the cultural sector or related to it. There is a great deal of information here, too much to present in detail. Moreover, the information is still changing so quickly that when you read this some things may already be different. Therefore, please check our website regularly. There we try to keep everything as up to date as possible and you will find direct links to important sources of information.

In providing all this information, we are trying to do our part to help ease the crisis and the chaos that it brings, hopefully for you.

We wish everyone the best of luck during this time. Stay healthy!
