And So, Change Comes in Waves Art and Science Route, Leuven (B) 

On the occasion of 600 years of KU Leuven, more than seventy scientists, together with poets and visual artists, bent over social challenges that together shape the university's intellectual agenda. This dialogue resulted in eight artworks and eight poems. They were integrated in meaningful locations linked to scientific research today and in the past. Together they convey a story of human decisiveness and humility, permanent wonder and undeniable connection. This resulted in a permanent art route through Leuven. It shows the dynamic interaction between university and society. Science is human work. At the heart of science lies a fascinating encounter with not-knowing. Even the most brilliant researchers encounter their limits. And So, Change Comes in Waves places humans at the heart of the practice of science, to indicate that, just because any form of knowledge is imperfect, it remains improvable. From this possibility of improvement, the art and science route carpets a renewed thinking of progress for the 21st century. The route is permanently accessible.
